Yay bought a new PS3

February 27th, 2009

Went to the shops and bought a new 80GB PS3 with Killzone 2 and Need For Speed Underground.  I just traded in Killzone 2 for Street Fighter 4 (as I’ve already got the Limited Edition copy) and I’m back in business!  Well apart from losing pretty much all of my save games :-(

KillZone 2

February 26th, 2009

It’s arrived!!!  Not that I’ve been waiting for it or anything…

KillZone 2 Collector's Edition

KillZone 2 Collector's Edition

Shopto.net are the best.  They are the only supplier in the UK as far as I know to sell this Limited Edition brush metal case version, and they delivered it a day early!  Now I just need to get home and play it – hopefully nobody is using the other PS3 as mine died the other day :-(

My PS3 Died!! :-(

February 25th, 2009

My PS3 (Betty) died on Monday night during a Call of Duty 4 session.  She just turned off half way through an online match, and when I tried to turn her on I got the dreaded YLoD (Yellow Light of Death). Read the rest of this entry »

Trip to Scotland

February 23rd, 2009

Amy and I took a little break away to Scotland.  Amy’s not been there before and we thought it would be a nice break – and it definitely was (except for all the driving I had to do)!

We left quite late on the Wednesday afternoon and got stuck in a lot of traffic at Birmingham, so we only got as far as Abingdon that first day, but it was far enough to leave early the next morning and get to Edinburgh.  We went to the castle, had a look around and watched the One o’ Clock Gun being fired.  We had a look around all the parts of the castle and had a good time there. Guitar Hero: World Tour

February 4th, 2009

I recently bought Guitar Hero World Tour after playing it on my girlfriend’s brother’s 360. It’s a great game, really good fun with a group of you!

I was playing it at home so much that Amy decided to buy me the whole band bundle as an early birthday present. I now have two guitars, a microphone and DRUMS! Woohoo. I love the drums, the neighbours don’t, but that doesn’t matter does it!?

So yeah, if you have a PS3 and Guitar Hero 4, then add Kellos to your PSN friends list, and I’m more than up for playing it online :-)

Playstation 3 Home

December 12th, 2008

Playstation 3’s Home finally arrives!!

After a whole day of hitting F5 on my browser and checking the PS3 forums at around 8:40pm on the 11th December 2008, Playstation Home was finally brought online as an open Beta! I must have been one of the first to start the download process, I was definitely ahead of anyone else on my friends list (and ahead of the thousands, if not millions of people that couldn’t log in due to server stress). Infonic’s Christmas Party 2008

December 9th, 2008

It was time for the Christmas party on Saturday and I was amazed how relatively uneventful it was. I guess I’m just used to other Christmas parties where managers either end up laying in their own vomit, or getting arrested after breaking into the bar after closing time at a hotel…

Anyway it was a pretty good party, good food and a good time.

It’s been a while…

December 4th, 2008

… so I thought I’d write a little post

I haven’t posted anything for such a long time and well I’m a little bored so what the hell..

I got a new job at the beginning of July, working at a company called Infonic. I used to know one of the director’s from my first job at Beiersdorf (at that point Infonic was called Tokairo). I always wanted to work for Tokairo and so I feel it’s kind of fate, especially as I met my gorgeous girlfriend Amy just a few weeks after joining too :-) Quite a scary story really, as I didn’t know she was the daughter of another director here at the company when I started flirting with her! Thankfully after a little hiccup, I think the big boss man is OK with it all – well I haven’t received my P45 yet anyway.. :-P

I’ve been playing on my PS3 a lot (no change there), and am currently enjoying a bit of LittleBigPlanet and a lot of Resistance 2 online :-)

Christmas is nearly upon us and I’ve been thinking what to get people as usual, although this year I’ve actually bought quite a few presents already instead of my normal rush out on Christmas eve and buy it all then.

Got a new phone (I needed a contract phone as my phone bill to Amy alone was costing about £70 a month lol). It’s a very nice Samsung i8510 (Innov8). It’s got a great 8 megapixel camera and there’s not much it can’t do to be honest (even makes phone calls too!).

Apart from that, there’s not much else to say, I’m enjoying life a lot right now, part mainly to Amy and also my job. I’m looking forward to what 2009 brings!

Mog and the Smarties Tubes

September 20th, 2008

A good friend of mine suggested that I get hold of a cat and some smarties tubes and make it walk like a robot – no names mentioned at all Ian Barrs, so don’t worry.  At the time I thought it was a stroke of genius, but later realised that it was something that Jimmy Carr came up with the idea of.

Anyway the results were pretty funny (IMHO).  Before anyone starts screaming on about Animal rights, Mog (the cat) was perfectly happy and purring the whole time – if he wasn’t we wouldn’t have done it rest assured.

Metal Gear Solid 4

June 19th, 2008

My copy arrived and oh man it rocks!

I have never played the previous games in the series, except for Portable Ops briefly on my PSP. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from what I had read and heard, it was going to be a fantastic game – and it is!

Actually… So much so, I’ll end this blog here for now, I must get some sleep, although I’ve only got about 20 percent of the way through the game, I am going to start again from the beginning tomorrow morning (it really is that good).
