The Prodigy

Friday, April 10th, 2009

I went to The Prodigy Concert at Birmingham NIA on the 09/04/2009. What a night!!! Got a coach down there with some mates from work and hit the bars before the concert started.

We only decided to go to the concert a couple of weeks before the concert, so we could only get seats right at the back of the arena, but apart from only seeing tiny little dots on the stage, over-priced beers and having to walk up hundreds of steps with those beers (trying not spill them like all the people had done before me), the music was awesome!

It was great to hear the new tracks off the Invaders Must Die album, but it brought back some great memories when they played the old classics, and the concert ended with Outer Space – that’s one hell of a way to end a concert!

“The Scientist”

I found the patents for two of my Grandad’s (Frank Fox) inventions.  The first one is for a device similar to the Rubik’s cube, but my Grandad filed for the patent in 1970, quite a few years before Rubik.

This patent can be found here:  GB1344259A – Spherical 2×2x2

The second was for “The Box”, which was effectively a very powerful graphic equaliser, which measured the volume and depth of sound.  I can’t really do it justice from my poor explanation of it.  Granada Studios purchased a few to help them get the sound levels correct when recording Coronation Street.

Here’s his patent:  GB2134687A – The Box
